The Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the country and attracts thousands of visitors every day. The VIP Break Darshan is a special darshan offered at the temple that is customised for VIP personnel like actors, sportspersons, celebrities and other dignitaries. It is tailor-made to provide a more satisfying, efficient and convenient darshan experience for these personnel. Almost every day, the VIP queue is often filled with celebrities. On Tuesday morning’s VIP Break Darshan, visitors noticed quite a few celebrities as well.
The most prominent celebrity on Tuesday was South superstar Mohanlal who visited the temple alone. Mohanlal performed prayers while dressed traditionally. Appearing in a beige lungi, a brown shirt and a crimson neckpiece, the celebrated actor kindly posed for photographers.
A day before the darshan, Mohanlal revealed information about his upcoming film project, L360, directed by Tharun Moorthy from his Instagram handle. Although details regarding the cast and crew are still unknown, excitement is mounting for this significant 360th film in Mohanlal’s illustrious career.
Other celebrities who were spotted include Mukesh Rishi, Ayyappa Sharma, Rajeev Kanakala and his wife Suma Kanakala. They participated in the service of Lord Venkateshwara and paid their respects separately.
After the darshan, Vedic scholars conducted Vedasirvachan in Ranganayakula Mandapam, while temple officials presented Srivari Tirthaprasada and honoured them with silk robes. Devotees gathered to see the celebrities outside the temple. Mohan Lal, Suma Kanakala and Ayyappa Sharma showed interest in taking selfies.
The VIP Break Darshan is different from the regular darshan as it offers a shorter waiting time and a relatively exclusive temple experience, The VIPs are also given priority over the other devotees and they have a longer darshan time than the others. The VIP Break Darshan is typically permitted during intervals between regular Darshan types like Sarva Darshanam and Divya Darshanam.
