Stormy beginning to Maharashtra Assembly session, opposition demands farm loan waiver

The Maharashtra Assembly on Monday witnessed a stormy beginning of the Monsoon Session with opposition Congress and the NCP raising slogans demanding a farm loan waiver.

According to reports, the Opposition also plans to gun for scam accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers Pankaja Munde and Vinod Tawde.

While Munde has been accused by the opposition of a nearly Rs 200-crore scam, state Education Minister Vinod Tawde has been accused of irregularities in awarding a Rs 119 crore contract.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to clarify on the Air India incident, where a US-bound flight was reportedly delayed for nearly an hour on account of his principal secretary.
