New Delhi: With each passing day, a close nexus is being revealed between India's who's who and former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi. Even as Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is trying hard to get out of the controversy involving Modi's Uk stay permit, she has been caught in another one.
CNN-IBN accessed bills of Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai which reveals that Modi hosted Vasundhara during her stay in 2010.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party is treading carefully on the controversy and sources said that the party has asked its leaders to remain silent on charges against the Chief Minister. The BJP wanted to ascertain facts in the charges being levelled against her.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Rajeev Shukla and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's husband Swaraj Kaushal were among others who enjoyed his hospitality.
Shukla stayed twice in the hotel - from March 7 to March 8, 2010 and the bill was of Rs 11,000. His second stay on March 12 and 13 generated a bill of Rs 15,000.
Tharoor stayed in the executive suite from March 12 to March 13, 2010 and the bill was of Rs 25,612.
Sushma's husband Swaraj Kaushal was also Modi's guest and he stayed in the hotel from March 21 to March 22, 2010 and the bill was of Rs 13,000.
Sushma had stirred a controversy by admitting that she had no objection to Modi's request to allow him to travel out of UK. She had tweeted admitting that she spoke to this effect with British MP Keith Vaz and the British High Commissioner.
The bills are dated between January to April 2010 and were all billed to IPL.
