'Modi Will Complete His 3rd Term As PM': BJP Says Kejriwal, INDIA Bloc Misleading People
Nadda claimed that Kejriwal and other Opposition leaders are using the 'excuse' of Modi's age as there is no provision in BJP's constitution stating that a leader has to retire at the age of 75

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s statement about Prime Minister Narendra Modi retiring from politics after turning 75 years old in 2025. Accusing the Delhi CM and the ‘entire INDIA bloc’ of misleading people, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP Chief JP Nadda said Modi will complete his third term as Prime Minister of India.

Addressing media in Hyderabad, Shah said, “I want to tell Arvind Kejriwal and company that you have nothing to be happy about Modiji turning 75. It’s not written in BJP’s constitution anywhere that he can’t be the prime minister, and Modi ji will lead the country till 2029. He will be the prime minister and complete his term. He will also lead the coming elections. There is no confusion in the party.”

He further stated that the people of India, be it from East, West, North, South or Northeast, are standing with Modi.

“All the leaders of the INDI alliance know that we are going to cross 400 seats and Modi ji will become the PM of this country for the third time, that is why they are spreading this type of misconception…They cannot win elections by spreading such lies,” the Union Minister added.

Echoing Shah’s views, BJP national president JP Nadda claimed that Kejriwal and other Opposition leaders are using the ‘excuse’ of Modi’s age as there is no provision in BJP’s constitution stating that a leader has to retire at the age of 75.

‘Kejriwal and the entire INDI alliance have panicked after realizing their failure in the elections. Their aim is to mislead and confuse the country. Modi Ji is getting the immense blessings of the people from East to West, North to South. They have neither any policy nor any program in front of the Prime Minister. Now they are looking for a way out by making an excuse of Modi Ji’s age. There is no such provision regarding age anywhere in the constitution of the BJP… Modi ji is our leader and will continue to lead us in the future too,” Nadda said in a post on X.

What Kejriwal Said?

The clarification came after Kejriwal, who is out of jail on interim bail, claimed that Prime Minister Modi wants Amit Shah to succeed him if BJP retains power for a third term.

Addressing his first rally on Saturday a day after coming out of jail after 50 days, Kejriwal said voting for Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha election 2024 would mean voting for Amit Shah.

“These people ask the INDIA alliance who will be their Prime Minister. I ask BJP who will be your Prime Minister? PM Modi is turning 75, on 17th September. He made a rule that leaders in the party would retire after 75 years…LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan, and Yashwant Sinha were retired and now PM Modi is going to retire on 17th September,” Kejriwal said.

Claiming that BJP is going on the path of ‘one nation, one leader’, the Delhi CM said, “If their government is formed, they will first dispose of Yogi Adityanath and then make Amit Shah the Prime Minister of the country. PM Modi is asking for votes for Amit Shah. Will Amit Shah fulfil Modi’s guarantee?”
