New Delhi: It's official. The Maya jaal (Mayawati's web) has been spun in the state of Uttar Pradesh and the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo is all set to be sworn in as Chief Minister on Sunday.

The oath will be administered as soon as the Election Commission notifies the formation of the 15th Assembly on Saturday evening.

Mayawati, whose party gained an absolute majority in the state Assembly polls will be sworn in at a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhawan, BSP General Secretary Satish Chand Mishra was quoted by news agency UNI as saying.

The BSP legislature party met in Lucknow on Saturday afternoon and has elected Mayawati as the legislative party leader - no no surprises there as it was a foregone conclusion that the BSP supremo would be the chosen one.

She is expected to meet the Governor at 1500 hrs IST on Saturday and the new government is expected to take charge within a few days.

Meanwhile, informal meetings of the legislature have already started under the chairmanship of BSP Senior General Secretary Nasimuddin Siddiqui.

''We have fixed a deadline of 1900 hrs on Saturday for meeting the Governor and hand over the Assembly results to him,'' State Additional CEO, Devesh Chaturvedi was quoted by UNI as saying.

After receiving the results from the EC, the Governor will notify the new 15th Assembly.
