Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad may have introduced his wife into politics, but he does not want that career for his two sons.
They, he has said, are budding cricketers.
"I will not allow them to join politics," he declared.
Upbeat about the massive turnout at his Chetawani (warning) rally in Patna Sunday, Lalu Prasad introduced before the crowd of supporters his two sons, for the first time, as cricket players.
"This is Tej Pratap and this is Tejaswi. Both are cricketers, they are good players. I will not allow them to join politics," he said soon after he finished his speech.
Earlier, the local media had speculated Lalu Prasad's sons will join politics sooner than later.
Lalu Prasad's wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi smiled indulgently as he introduced his sons as budding cricketers.
So did other top leaders, including union ministers, members of parliament and state legislature from his party present on the podium.
The sons later greeted the crowd like mature politicians with folded hands.
Interestingly, Lalu Prasad's brothers-in-law, RJD MPs Sadhu Yadav and Subhash Yadav, who do not enjoy the clout in the party, were also present at the rally.
