Bangalore: Former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa seems to be going a notch down on his demands to be made the Chief Minister again. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the former chief minister said that he will head to Delhi to meet the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership.
"I am in touch with Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and other senior BJP leaders. I will be going to Delhi as they have asked me to come. I believe that they will be taking a decision after the budget. I have not set any conditions. I will do whatever they ask me to," Yeddyurappa said.
This came a day after his defiance to do the same when urged by party President Nitin Gadkari.
Yeddyurappa had refused to come to Delhi and demanded that the BJP leadership meets him in Bangalore.
Yeddyurappa has also given his word that all his MLAs will be in the Karnataka Assembly on Wednesday when Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda presents the budget.
A temporary compromise seems to have been worked out as not allowing the budget to be presented could well lead to a Constitutional crisis, and that could even attract President's rule.
In New Delhi, 13 MPs also stepped up pressure on the BJP high command to reinstate him as the Karnataka Chief Minister.
