Jayalalithaa hands over list of ministers to Governor, will be sworn in as Tamil Nadu CM on Saturday

Chennai: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief J Jayalalithaa's will reclaim the post of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and will be sworn in on Saturday at 11 AM. This will be the fifth time that Jayalalithaa will take over the top post in the state.
With a rally of supporters and party workers, Jayalalithaa on Friday made her first public appearance in nearly 8 months. She went to Raj Bhawan to meet Governor K Rosaiah and handed over a list of ministers to him.
This comes after Rosaiah accepted O Panneerselvam's resignation as the Chief Minister of the state and and invited Jayalalithaa to form the new government 'at the earliest'. AIADMK members had unanimously elected Jayalalithaa as the leader of the legislature party in a meeting early on Friday morning.
Party Treasurer and Chief Minister O Panneeerselvam had forwarded the motion to elect her as legislature party leader which was seconded by Electricity Minister Natham R Vishwanathan, the sources said, adding, it was adopted unanimously.
A beaming Cooperative Minister, Sellur K Raju, when asked if Jayalalithaa had been elected as LPP leader, said, "this is the happiest day of our life."
A former film star who has a cult-like following in Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa also wields influence in national politics, with her AIADMK party holding the third largest number of seats in Lok Sabha.
After she stepped down, senior ministers wept at the swearing-in ceremony of her replacement, O Panneerselvam, and some supporters reportedly set themselves on fire to protest against her conviction in the disproportionate assets case.
