Aam Aadmi Party on Friday alleged the involvement of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit in the transport scam and said it will set up Janlokpal as suggested by Anna Hazare to probe "power, water and transport scams" if voted to power. According to various surveys, it's clear that AAP would be forming the government in November and the first thing it would do is to set up Janlokpal, as suggested by Anna Hazare.
"It will probe three scams related to power, water and transport and come out with result in six months to a year and those guilty would be sent to jail," AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal told reporters. Kejriwal said a CD of a senior transport department official Anil Chikara is being aired on news channels in which he has expressed apprehensions about threat on his life.
Chikara had alleged that there were irregularities in awarding of tender for vehicle fitness certificate and there was threat on his life after the scam came to light, he said. Delhi BJP too had on Thursday alleged that it was Rs 1,000 crore scam and had demanded a CBI inquiry into it, claiming that investigators were not allowed to carry out a thorough probe as high-profile people including the Chief Minister were involved. The charge was rejected as "baseless" by the Delhi government.
