Gujarat: 334 candidates in fray for Lok Sabha polls
Along with BJP's Modi and Congress's Madhusudan Mistry from Vadodara, LK Advani is seeking another term from the Gandhinagar seat.

Ahmedabad: 334 candidates are in the fray in all 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat with 79 aspirants having withdrawn their nominations, election officials said.

Prominent among 334 candidates, who remained in the arena for April 30 polls, are BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi, Congress senior leader Madhusudan Mistry -both contesting from Vadodara seat and BJP patriarch LK Advani who is seeking

another term from the Gandhinagar seat.

"After the scrutiny of nomination forms in the last two days, 79 candidates have withdrawn their nomination forms," officials said, adding that Saturday was the last day for withdrawal from the fray.

Among those who withdrew is AAP candidate for Sabarkantha seat, Natwar Solanki. "We found out that Solanki had a criminal case against him which he had not disclosed, so the party told him to withdraw his papers," an AAP leader said.

BJP stalwart Narendra Modi's namesake Narendra Babulal Modi on Saturday withdrew his nomination from Vadodara seat.
