Bipin Singh of BJP is leading from Gorakhpur Rural, constituency No. 323 of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly, with 83337 votes.
The main candidates from Gorakhpur Rural were Rajesh Pandey (BSP), Bipin Singh (BJP), Vijay Bahadur Yadav (SP), Gulab Chandra Yadav (RLD) and Adil Akhtar (CPI).
Bipin Singh (BJP) won Gorakhpur Rural seat by a margin of 16, 985 votes during the 2012 Assembly elections. Vijay Bahadur Yadav from SP bagged a total of 58,849 votes.
Elections to 403 seats of Uttar Pradesh were held over 7 phases from February 4 to March 8.
Exit polls had predicted the BJP emerging first in Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance emerging second and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party emerging a distant third.
