Delhi Gangrape: Sheila hints Police chief must go
Sheila Dikshit met Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for a review of the law and order situation in the capital.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit after meeting Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, to review law and order situation in the capital, said that the movement will lose its seriousness if it's politicised.

When asked should Delhi Police Commissioner resign? She said, "I will only say that highest officer of the area should be held responsible."

She furthers said, "I have requested, if possible, to cut the policeman from VIP security so that they can be deployed for the public safety."

Sheila drove to Shinde's residence immediately after presiding over an emergency Delhi Cabinet meeting which expressed serious concerns about the prevailing situation. The Cabinet discussed the situation prevailing in the city following violent protests at India Gate against the gangrape of a young girl in a moving bus last Sunday.

Sources said the Cabinet felt that concrete measures must be taken to instill confidence among woman in the city.
