Day 3 of Monsoon session ends without business: As it happened
Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been facing repeated disruptions and the houses are unable to keep up scheduled business because of Opposition's uproar in Parliament.

The BJP and the Congress are locked in an all out war over tit-for-tat corruption charges, suggesting that even the third day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament will be a washout. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been facing repeated disruptions and the houses are unable to keep up scheduled business because of Opposition's uproar in Parliament.

2:08 pm: Rajya Sabha has been adjourned for the day.

2:03 pm: Sitaram Yechuri: We do not discharge out duties in House for TV opportunities. The Leader of Opposition had alleged that I was raising objection to get TV time. I have an objection and request for this to be expunged. Wrong statements needs to be corrected. It is a grave injustice that allegations are levelled against members raising issues that they do so to get TV opportunity. The members should apologise for making such a comment.

2:00 pm: Rajya Sabha proceedings begin after repeated adjournments. Uproar in the House continues.

12:24 pm: BJP Chief whip Arjun Meghwad has moved a privilege motion saying Robert Vadra has insulted Parliament and the Parliamentarians. "Action must be taken against Vadra," says Arjun Meghwad. His remarks intensified opposition protest which led to the adjournment of Lok Sabha.

12:20 pm: Opposition refuses to let the House function, Lok Sabha adjourned for the day.

12:12 pm: Slogans of "We want justice" raised in Lok Sabha by the Opposition members.

12:08 pm: BJP's Prakash Javdekar reacts to Rahul's statements, says before asking questions from the PM, the Congress should first answer where is the money they have looted for last 10 years.

12:07 pm: BJP's Prakash Javdekar: The Congress politics is anti-development. They did not allow development as they do not want to let the house function.

12:05 pm: Congress leader Anand Sharma says they will not let Rajya Sabha function at any cost.

12:03 pm: Opposition members raise slogans in Lok Sabha against the government demanding a reply from the PM.

12:01 pm: Opposition refuses to let the House function, Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm.

12:00 pm: Both Houses of Parliament resume amidst uproar.

11:50 am: Samajwadi Party did not attend Congress's opposition unity meet against the Central government.

11:45 am: Rahul Gandhi: In Vyapam scam there have been 40 murders and yet PM cannot speak a single word on it. The people of India had not voted for Sushma Swaraj, they voted for Narendra Modi.

11:42 am: Rahul Gandhi: What Sushma Swaraj has done is a criminal act, there'll be no discussion without resignation.

11:40 am: Rahul Gandhi: PM must speak, why is he defending his leaders. We also took action against our ministers and leaders whenever there were corruption charges. We have taken action against our CMs. Modi's statements have no substance.

11:30 am: According to sources, BJP will continue its retaliatory attack on Congress. The more the disruption, the more government will rake up the issue of scams in Congress-ruled states. Government is clear that Congress should first sack their own CMs and then expect any action from the government. The government is hopeful that after Sushma Swaraj's tweet, the way Congress called off their protest, raking up issues of scams related to their CMs will force them to ultimately back off.

11:25 am: BJP gives notices in both houses to take corruption issues in Congress-ruled states. Notices will be given again to discuss the Kerala solar scam, Assam and Goa scam bribery, Himachal Virbhadra scam, etc.

11:25 am: Rajya Sabha adjourned till 12 noon as opposition parties refuse to relent.

11:20 am: How did the copy of the motion reach Jaitley, asks Congress leader Anand Sharma. Jaitley quotes rules, says every member has the right to access the notices.

11:19 am: Please educate yourself on procedures, says Arun Jaitley to Sitaram Yechury as he continues to demand resignation of BJP ministers embroiled in controversy.

11:18 am: Arun Jaitley says notice of adjournment given by Congress does not state anything about resignations so discussion cannot be held on it.

11:15 am: Scenes of uproar in Rajya Sabha. Congress leader Hanumantha Rao displaces poster in the house. Government says it is ready for discussion on any matter in the House.

11:10 am: Discuss or disrupt, there will be no resignation, says Modi government in Parliament

11:05 am: Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 noon after uproar by Opposition.

11:00 am: Both Houses of Parliament meet for the day.

11:00 am: Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia: People want a reply from the government on the scandals. There have been no clarifications. The Congress and all opposition parties are together on this. We are not running away from discussion but we want action first.
