79. Chitrangi is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Sidhi Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Chitrangi falls in Singrauli district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,18,383 voters in the seat, which includes 1,13,437 male voters, and 1,04,948 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Chitrangi recorded a voter turnout of 73.74%. In 2013 the turnout was 65.91%, and in 2008 it was 65.92%.
In 2013, Saraswati Singh of INC won the seat by a margin of 9,845 votes (7.02%). Saraswati Singh secured 40.99% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 25,609 votes (25.41%), registering 48.25% of the total votes polled.
