Chandrababu Naidu Bats For Telangana-Andhra Unity, Seeks to Restore TDP's Former Glory
After a meeting with Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu stressed that the two states should stick together for the best interests of Telugu community.

In a spirited meeting on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will regain its former glory in Telangana. The TDP president held a meeting with party workers in Hyderabad after meeting Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday.

Stressing that the two states should stick together for the best interests of Telugu community, the CM said: “I sincerely thank the chief minister of Telangana for responding positively to the issues we raised in our meeting yesterday. We are akin to brothers and sisters who have been separated. However, we should stick together in front of outsiders. Even if we are separated, our community is one. We speak the same language. Unity brings strength. I will take the lead to protect the interests of Telugus. Problems cannot be solved through quarrels. They have to be resolved through positive discussions.”

Revanth Reddy had worked closely with the TDP chief when he was part of the yellow party from 2008 to 2017. The two leaders have always shared a warm relationship.

The new CM of AP thanked his followers profusely for their support. “This is the first time I have come to Hyderabad after taking oath as a CM for the fourth time. It is very gratifying to see the love and enthusiasm you have shown on this occasion. The TDP did not contest in the last election in Telangana, but activists came in large numbers. That is the strength of the Telugu Desam Party. You directly and indirectly contributed to my victory. Thank you all,” Naidu said.

“Our leader and Yuga Purushu Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party on Telangana soil. Looking at your enthusiasm, it seems that the former glory of the party will come again in the region. Our party is the only party that has worked for the development of both regions. Till my last breath, I will work for the development of both states,” he asserted.

Recalling his stint as the CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said: “Reporters here are eye-witnesses to how Hyderabad looked before 1995. Firstly, we founded Hi-tech City. The development that followed has made it numero uno in the country today. This is what TDP’s commitment looks like. We ushered in the knowledge economy. After that, the Congress and BRS ran the state, and the reigns are in the hands of the Congress again under the leadership of Revanth Reddy. All of them are carrying forward the work we started. That is why, I wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Telangana to discuss the issues of bifurcation.”
