New Delhi: The BJP will organise a Dalit rally in Gandhinagar on Thursday to protest a Congress MLA's remark comparing Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavans in Gujarat to graveyards.
The Congress has hurt the sentiments of Dalits by comparing the Bhavans with graveyards and it should apologise to the people, BJP's schedule caste cell president Atmaram Parmar told reporters in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Congress MLA Pravin Maru had compared Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavans built in each district of the state to graveyards in a recent speech in the state assembly. Instead of building such bhavans, the state government should have built homes for Dalits, he said.
His statement created a furore in the House and BJP MLAs had demanded that Maru and the Congress should apologise for such a comparison.
