India put England to the sword in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 contest in Lucknow on Sunday evening to the delight of a capacity crowd gathered at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
After India were kept to 239/9 by England on a sluggish pitch, the bowlers stepped up and ran through the defending champions batting line up like a hot knife through butter.
The pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami was breathing fire and their spell with the new ball left England gasping for breath.

Kuldeep Yadav joined the party with a magical delivery to stun England captain Jos Buttler.
Then there was a moment that has gone viral on social media.
A clip of India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s joyous celebration upon the fall of an English batter has been lapped up by fans on social media with several of them terming it as a ‘beautiful moment’.
The ‘viral moment’ happened after Mohammed Shami struck with the first delivery of his second spell to send back Moeen Ali who was caught behind.

The manner in which Kohli and Rohit embraced each other as Moeen left the field gave an impression as if a plan had come to life exactly as they had expected.
Meanwhile, Shami continues to bowl with a vengeance as if to give a message to the Indian team management to not ever bench him again.
Shami wasn’t picked in India’s eleven for their first three matches of the world cup 2023 with the team management preferring Shardul Thakur to ensure they bat deep.
An injury to Hardik Pandya left a vacant spot and Shami played his first game of the competition in Dharamsala against New Zealand, taking a wicket with his very first delivery. He finished with a five-wicket haul and was chosen player-of-the-match as India recorded their fifth win in a row.
On Sunday, Shami backed up the excellent opening spell of Bumrah during which the latter took two wickets in two to jolt England in chase of 230.
Shami also took two wickets in as many deliveries, spread across two overs to leave England reeling at 39/4 in 9.1 overs.
