This is not the first time entrepreneur and motivational speaker Vivek Bindra is in the news for the wrong reasons. Already involved in an online feud with another motivational speaker, Bindra now faces assault charges. Only eight days into his marriage, his wife has accused the 41-year-old of “punching her deaf”.
Police said they are investigating the allegations and will take action upon probe. Bindra and Yanika were married on December 6 and were living in a posh society in Noida’s Sector 94. But, a few days into the marriage, his wife registered a case of assault against him in the Sector 126 police station at Noida. Yanika’s brother Vaibhav Kwatra also lodged a complaint against Bindra on December 9, on the basis of which an FIR was registered on December 14. His wife has reportedly suffered serious injuries on the head due to which she is experiencing deafness and is undergoing treatment.
“On the morning of December 7, my brother-in-law Vivek Bindra was arguing with his mother Prabha ji. When my sister Yanika intervened, my brother-in-law locked the room with my sister, abused her and beat her a lot due to which she has wounds all over her body, she is unable to hear and her hair were also torn out,” Kwatra alleged.
“Due to the head wound, she was feeling quite dizzy. She was being treated at Kailash Deepak Hospital in Delhi,” he said. Kwatra further alleged that during the fight Bindra broke his sister’s mobile phone.
Bindra is booked under IPC sections 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insult to provoke breach of peace), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 427 (mischief). “We have launched an investigation into the case to ascertain the facts. Necessary action would be taken accordingly,” assistant commissioner of police (Noida) Rajneesh Verma told PTI.
Here are some other controversies and scandals Bindra is involved in:
MBA in 10 days
Bindra is the chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of Bada Business Private Limited (BBPL) and teaches people the tricks of business and marketing. He also doles out entrepreneurial tips to those who want to scale up their business. But, the man claims that you can complete an MBA degree in 10 days. According to his account on X, he offers a “free” and “10-day MBA course”. But, questions have been raised on this scheme.
Online feud with influencer Sandeep Maheshwari
Bindra is already engaged in a tussle online with fellow YouTuber and motivational speaker Sandeep Maheshwari. Only recently, his business rival accused him of running a “scam” following which the two got into a war of words. Maheshwari had released a video titled ‘Big Scam Exposed’, accusing Bindra of running a course similar to multilevel marketing and a scam of nearly Rs 500 crore. This, he alleged, involved taking huge sums of money from students to “teach them business”. The feud has since intensified with Bindra alleging that Maheshwari threatened his legal team.
Controversy over depiction of Guru Gobind Singh
In June 2022, Bindra had to apologise after causing an uproar in the Sikh community over an animated depiction of Guru Gobind Singh in one of his videos.
Defamation suit by Indian Medical Association
In 2018, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) accused Bindra of defaming doctors in a video titled ‘Reality of Indian Medical System’. The doctors’ body even filed a case against him but despite facing a potential Rs 50 crore defamation suit, Bindra won as the court stressed on the importance of freedom of expression.
