Rishabh Pant is eyeing a comeback soon and is working relentlessly to regain his fitness. It’s been a year since he survived a horrific car crash and the injuries kept him away from action. The wicketkeeper-batter has recovered impressively and has been sweating out in the nets and the gym to get back on track.
The 26-year-old keeps posting videos of his training session and the latest one has given high hopes to his fans who are missing him badly. In a video shared on Instagram, Pant could be seen lifting weights and cycling at the NCA gym.
“Bouncing back with every rep,” the video of the caption read.

Pant missed out on all major cricketing events in 2023 including the ICC ODI World Cup at home. He is now expected to return in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as the leader of Delhi Capitals. He was among the players retained by the franchise this season. The wicketkeeper-batter was also seen in the DC training camp, held at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus last month, hinting at his return.
Ganguly’s Confirms Pant’s Availability
DC team director Sourav Ganguly had already confirmed that Pant will be back for the IPL 2024.
“He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season,” Ganguly told reporters, as quoted by PTI at the camp last month.
Pant last played for India in the second Test of the series in Bangladesh; a few days before the car accident in December. In Pant’s absence, Ishan Kishan was included in the mix in the T20Is while KL Rahul donned the gloves in ODIs and Tests.
Before the accident, Pant was one of the prolific figures in Team India across all formats and even led the team during the side’s T20I series against South Africa in June 2022.
