PSEB 10th Result 2022: Students who took the Punjab board class 10 exam will be able to check their scores online on the official website at pseb.ac.in

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has declared the class 10 result 2022 today, July 5. Students, however, will be able to check their scores online from tomorrow, July 6, 10 AM onwards, on the official website at pseb.ac.in. Out of the total students who took the exam, as many as 97.94% have passed. The online marksheets will also be available at punjab.indiaresults.com, and results.nic.in. The PSEB secretary announced the results via a virtual press conference from board headquarters in Mohali.

Over 3.11 lakh students took exams in the regular mode. The pass percentage this time is a slight drop from last year. Among the 3.23 lakh students who took the exam in the private or open mode, as many as 3.16 lakh students passed. Gurdaspur is the best performing district  in the PSEB 10th result 2022. The lowest marks obtained by students in the merit list is 96.77 per cent. A total of 312 student have grabbed ranks in the top spots this time.

The merit list or the topper’s list has been released as well. The top three ranks have been obtained by girls. The first rank has been secured by Nancy Rani from Ferozpur. The first and second rank holders have got the same marks but as per the tie-breaker formula, Nancy is younger and hence given the top spot. The topper will be given Rs 1 lakh by the PSEB. The second and third rank holders will also be given cash prizes.

The Punjab board class 10 exams were conducted from April 29 to May 19. Students must secure a minimum of 33 percent marks to get to the next standard. Students not satisfied with their marks allowed to appear for compartment exams. Those who fail compartment exams will, however, have to repeat the year. Students can also opt for re-evaluation of their answer sheets.

Punjab Board 10th Result 2022: Documents Needed

Students must keep their hall ticket or admit cards ready before checking the online marksheets. This is because it contains their registration number or roll number which they will have to insert on the given box on the website to be able to access their scores. The online marksheet will act as a provisional one till the Telangana board shares the hardcopy of the same with the schools.

Step 1: Open the official website of the Punjab board, pseb.ac.in

Step 2: Now go to the ‘Result’ tab on the home page

Step 3: Next, click on the link to ‘PSEB Class 10 Result 2022’

Step 4: Submit the required credentials such as your roll number

Step 5: Once done you will be redirected to the webpage carrying your Class 10 scores

Step 6: Download and take a printout of your marksheet for further use

Step 1: Go to the SMS application on your phone

Step 2: Type ‘PB10 ‘ in the message box

Step 3: Send it to 5676750

Step 4: In a short time, the result will be sent to the same mobile number

Step 1: Visit the Digilocker website — digilocker.gov.in

Step 2: If you have made an account on the app, log in using your credentials

Step 3: Under the ‘education’ category, choose PSEB

Step 4: Select the Punjab Board 10th exam result 2022 category.

Step 5: Key in your Aadhaar card number, and the result will appear on your screen.

PSEB 10th Result 2022: What to Check

After you get the Punjab board 10th results, students must cross check all the details on the score card, to ensure it is error-free. This includes marks, overall percentage, name of the student with spelling, personal details, school name and spelling, percentage and grade calculation, pass/ fail status. Students must also carefully check whether the roll number is correct or not. In case of any error in result, students must get in touch with the respective school authorities or PSEB directly through mail. Students can write to matricsecrecy.pseb.punjab.gov.in for any queries.

Punjab Board 10th Result 2022: No Hardcopy of Marksheet?

The online marksheet that students will get today will act the final one. The PSEB will not issue any hardcopy to the students. They have said that the online marksheet will be accepted across schools in the state. Those who want to get can do get one but they will have to pay Rs 800 for the same. This is applicable for both classes 10 and 12 results. PSEB Chairman, Dr Yograj had earlier informed that the soft copy of the result will be available free of cost to the students through the DigiLocker app and it is not compulsory for the students to opt for the hardcopy.

Punjab Board 10th Result 2022: How Will Final Result be Calculated

The Punjab board held the Class 10 exams in two terms this year. While the term 1 results have already been announced, the term 2 results will be out today. The final result will be calculated based on term 1 and term 2 results combined. Students must note that only the term 2 result will not the final one. PSEB, however, is yet to declare the weightage of each term.

Punjab Board 10th Result 2022: Passing marks, re-evaluation process

To pass the PSEB 10th result 2022, students need to secure at least 33 per cent marks in each subject and in aggregate. Students who are not satisfied with their results can opt for re-evaluation. They will have to pay additional fees to get their answer sheets re-evaluated. Those who miss it by a few marks will be given a chance to appear for compartment exam, the date of which will be announced soon. Students who fail to get the minimum qualifying marks in the compartment exams will, however, have to repeat the year.

PSEB 10th Result 2022: Will Merit List be Released Today?

The PSEB will announce the merit list today after releasing the marksheets of the students. The topper list or the merit list will be released today after a gap of two years. It will include the names of toppers with their marks. Last year, since the Punjab board class 10 board exams were cancelled due to the pandemic, the results were declared on alternative assessment and the merit list was not issued.

PSEB 10th Result 2022: How Did Punjab Board Score in the Past Years?

As the board exams were not held last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, PSEB had announced the results based on previous year’s marks and internal assessments. Thus, the pass percentage was high, however, this time, it could go down to the pre-pandemic levels again. In 2021, as many as 99.93 per cent of the students who took the Punjab board 10th exam, had cleared it. In 2020, the pass percentage was 100 per cent. That year too, the exams were not held. In 2019, the pass percentage was at 85.56 per cent and in 2018, it was at 59.47 per cent.

PSEB 10th Result 2022 Today, 12th Result Already Out

The Punjab board has already released the class 12 result on June 28. The pass percentage for the 12th class stands at 96.96 per cent. Out of the 3,01,725 students who took exams, a total of 2,92,520 passed. The pass percentage is just a drop by 1.51 percentage point compared to last year when exams were cancelled. For the PSEB 12th result, girls outperformed boys. The top three ranks were scured by girls — Arshdeep Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur and Kulwinder Kaur, all scored 497 marks out of a total of 500.
