Afghanistan trumped England on Sunday to cause the biggest upset in the ongoing ODI World Cup in Delhi. Defending their 284-run total, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side bundled out the defending champions for 215 to win the game by 69 runs. The celebration doubled up with the love showered by the fans who gathered at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in support of Afghanistan. The loud chants of the players’ names boosted the confidence of the Afghan Atalan which ultimately reflected on the result of the game.

Following the cracking contest, a little Indian fan got emotional after meeting Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman. The leg-spinner was so touched by the gesture that he shared a few pictures of meeting with the kid who was in tears after hugging Mujeeb.
“It’s not Afghani boy it’s one young Indian boy so happy for ur win It was an absolute pleasure meeting this little guy from India Delhi last night (Cricket is not just a game it’s an emotion). Big thank you to all our amazing fans for coming down and supporting us last night the love and support is overwhelming,” Mujeeb wrote.
“We are grateful for your continuous support and we can’t wait for you to keep supporting us in the future❤ thanks for love Delhi,” he added.

On the other hand, star leg-spinner Rashid Khan also expressed his gratitude to fans who gathered in numbers to enjoy the thrilling contest. It was Afghanistan’s second consecutive match in Delhi. Before going against England, the Afghan brigade endured an 8-wicket defeat at the hands of hosts India at this venue.
Apart from thanking the crowd at the venue, Rashid also made sure to mention all the Afghanistan fans who kept faith in the national team and cheered for them from different parts of the globe.

The 25-year-old played a vital role in Afghanistan’s impressive show against England. After contributing 22 runs with the bat, Rashid picked up three wickets in England’s chase to wrap up with the best bowling figure for his team.
