GATE 2021 Scorecard Released: Here's How to Check Marks Online

GATE 2021: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has released the scorecard for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 at its official website, gate.iitb.ac.in. The GATE 2021 result was declared earlier this month. Of the total 7,11,542 candidates who appear for the exam, only 1,26,813 candidates qualified. The pass percentage was recorded at 17.82 per cent this year. Pass percentage per subject varied from 8.42 per cent to 29.54 per cent.

Students who have qualified GATE will be eligible for admissions to MTech courses across IITs and IISc. They can also apply for PSU jobs. Candidates will have to apply at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). During the earlier result, only the cut-off was released, now students can check their individual scores. To do so one needs to follow these steps –

Step 1: Visit gate.iitb.ac.in

Step 2: Click on scorecard link

Step 3: Log-in using credentials

Step 4: Scorecard will be available, download

This year, many students have passed the GATE exam, however, the eldest candidate to qualify the exam is 67-year-old Sankaranarayanan Sankarapandian. He has cracked two papers – mathematics and computer science. A retired teacher of mathematics at Hindu College, Tamil Nadu, Sankarapandian is the grandfather of three and aims at pursuing research in augmented reality.

GATE 2021 was held on February 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14, It was held amid COVID-precautions. This year, two new exams were added to the list of papers taking the total paper tally to 27. The new subjects added were – ES (Environmental Science and Engineering) and XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics / English / Linguistics / Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology. Further, the syllabi of all the subjects were revised this year. The pattern of the paper too was changed to add multiple select questions (MSQs) to the numerical answer type and multiple-choice questions.
