Delhi Chilled to 6.2°C, Marking Season's Lowest Temperature; AQI Plunges to 'Very Poor' Category

Residents of Delhi woke up to a chilly and foggy morning on Thursday, experiencing a minimum temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius, the lowest recorded this season. The weather department forecasts a maximum temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius for the day.

As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9am was recorded at 358, categorizing it as ‘very poor’. The AQI scale rates between zero and 50 as ‘good’, 51 to 100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 as ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 as ‘poor’, 301 to 400 as ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 as ‘severe’.

The India Meteorological Department’s bulletin indicated a relative humidity of 100 per cent at 8.30 am. The capital has experienced temperatures below the average for the past few days. Wednesday recorded a minimum of 7.4 degrees Celsius, Tuesday at 6.8 degrees Celsius, and Monday at 6.5 degrees Celsius.”
