Young India batting sensation Shubman Gill caught Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan as the Gujarat Titans duo reunited in the UK. Shubman will lead the Titans for the first time next season as he was named Titans captain recently following Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai Indians in the trading window.

Rashid has been one of the most consistent performers in IPL over the years and he also did well for Gujarat Titans since joining the franchise. The Afghan sensation also led the Titans on a few occasions in the past season in Pandya’s absence.

Meanwhile, he posed for a picture with Gill and shared the picture on social media, Rashid wrote, “Thank you for stopping by captain sahab.”

Rashid’s post garnered enthusiastic reactions from both Michael Vaughan and the Titans, delighted to witness the meeting of two stellar players.

The former England skipper said: “Love this.” Titans, on the other hand, wrote also reacted on social media.

Rashid underwent a minor lower-back surgery in the United Kingdom on November 24. Afghanistan’s cricket sensation has also withdrawn from the upcoming Big Bash League season 13 due to a back injury which requires a minor surgery.

He played a pivotal role in Afghanistan’s cricket team, significantly contributing to their success at the 2023 ODI World Cup. His performance stood out notably in matches against formidable teams such as England and Pakistan.

Recently, Gill opened up on the amazing feeling of becoming the skipper of an IPL franchise which he called a dream of any kid who wants to become a cricketer.

“I think it’s gonna take, like, probably till the time we don’t play the first match. it’s not gonna, you know, quite sink in. It’s a great feeling. I mean, I was about seven or eight years old when you know IPL started happening. Obviously, it’s a dream for any kid who wants to be a cricketer and wants to play the IPL to be able to captain a team. Then to be able to be that kind of binding factor in this team, it feels amazing,” Shubman Gill said in a video posted by Gujarat Titans.

Gill, who was last seen in action during the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, is gearing up for upcoming matches in South Africa. He’s set to join a three-match T20I series and participate in two Tests in the coming days.
