Apple MacBooks With M3 Chip May Not Launch This Year: Here's Why
Apple will not launch new MacBook models (equipped with M3 series processors) before the end of this year.

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is reportedly working on new MacBook models with the latest M3 chips. After a few reports in the past suggested that the new M3 MacBooks would launch this year, a new leak has now claimed that the company may skip the launch in 2023.

According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it seems that Apple will not launch new MacBook models (equipped with M3 series processors) before the end of this year. Recently, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the October Apple event this year might showcase the new Macs equipped with the M3 chip.

He mentioned that Macs being considered for the M3 chip include the 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac. Kuo excluded new MacBooks but left room for the possibility of a new iMac later this year.

According to MacRumors, the yet-to-be-revealed M3 chip is anticipated to be manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process, offering substantial enhancements in performance and power efficiency compared to the existing M2 chip, which was introduced in June 2022 and is based on the 5nm process.

Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up to host its ‘Wonderlust’ event on September 12. The company will introduce its latest iPhone 15 models, which include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra next week.

Alongside the iPhone 15 series, the brand is also expected to unveil new smartwatches — Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 and new AirPods featuring a USB-C port. Apple will host the ‘Wonderlust’ event on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Apple Park, California.

Apple will also livestream the event, which will start with Apple CEO Tim Cook keynotes. In India, interested viewers can watch the iPhone 15 launch event live from 10:30 PM IST onwards. You can watch the iPhone 15 launch event on Apple’s website, Apple TV app and YouTube.
