Shows for Marathi dancer Gautami Patil are going on with a lot of buzz these days. However, according to the latest reports, the Lavani dancer will not be able to give a performance in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, due to security concerns.
The dance shows for the popular folk dancer Gautami Patil are always anticipated by her fans. But in an unfortunate update for her fans in Kolhapur, the police have not given permission for the dance events scheduled to take place in the district. The reason that is being cited is that it is a security measure taken by the authorities, amidst the ongoing festive season.
The Ganesh Chaturthi and the upcoming Navratri festivals draw big crowds to the place as devotees from across the country come to participate in the festivities. So, the police are being deployed to ensure the security of the devotees.
The District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahendra Pandit denied permission for Gautami’s dance event at two locations in the district. The DSP addressed his decision in a press conference and said that two mandals, one in Radhanagari and the other in Karveer tehsils, had applied to book the places for the dance event for the occasion of the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi. But he refused to allow the event to take place because of security reasons.
According to reports, Gautami’s events were expected to be crowded and there was a danger of fights and clashes happening. It becomes hard for the organisers to get the situation under control.
Recently, Gautami gave a performance at a dahi handi celebration in Borivali and Mulund, Mumbai. She is famous for her Lavani dance style in Maharashtra. She became popular for her dance through online platforms and has been enjoying fame for the last 5 years. She has performed at events like birthdays, marriages, concerts and political events. She was born on February 4, 1996, in Dhule, Maharashtra. She completed her graduation from Pune University, and currently boasts an Instagram following of 1 million, and also owns a famous YouTube channel.
