After an almost two-year wait since the Season 2 finale of HBO’s Euphoria, fans can anticipate exciting developments regarding the third season. HBO and Max Chief, Casey Bloys, provided key insights in a recent interview, discussing various series, with a focus on Euphoria. While Bloys refrained from confirming whether Season 3 would conclude the series, he assured fans that creator and executive producer Sam Levinson is actively engaged in the writing process for the upcoming season. The Zendaya-starrer series secured a renewal for its third season in February 2022, generating heightened anticipation among audiences. Although specific details about the new season remain undisclosed, some reports suggest a potential premiere in 2025
Speaking to Variety, Casey Bloys said, “The cast have all become stars, which you love to see and Zendaya is obviously a big movie star. So, there is a practical reality to that. But it also depends on the stories Sam wants to tell. He’s in the thick of writing Season 3 right now and we’ll leave it up to him and have those conversations about what he wants to do.”
Meanwhile, Casey Bloys shared that there is no production date decided for Season 3 of Euphoria. The chairman highlighted the difficulty of aligning various schedules. Bloys, in an interview with Deadline, shared that he has already read three scripts for Season 3 and expressed admiration for Sam Levinson’s exceptional writing talent, indicating that the creator has written interesting narratives for the characters.
As per the Comic Book, Heidi Bivens, the costume designer for Euphoria, earlier hinted about a time jump for the upcoming Season 3. Confirming the information, she mentioned that there is talk of the new season being set approximately five years in the future, with the characters no longer in high school. Bivens expressed excitement about the creative challenge and uniqueness that Sam Levinson is expected to bring to the story. She expects that Levinson will make every effort to present fresh and gripping content.
Euphoria revolves around the complex lives of high school students dealing with the challenges of love, friendships and the impact of drugs, sex, trauma and social media. The cast features Zendaya, Maude Apatow, the late Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.
