Chaitanya Sharma is a multi-hyphenate personality. He is a rapper, theatre artist, playback singer, and actor. He was last seen in Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, which is streaming on the OTT platform Zee 5. Now, in an exclusive interview with News18, he opened up about this movie. Chaitanya also spoke about Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, and the differences and similarities between them. Chaitanya Sharma has worked in movies like Karwaan opposite Irrfan Khan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar. He has also featured in Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi, and in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. When he was asked about how he felt while working with Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, he said, “Both of them are very different personally, but professionally they are very similar. No new actor can do the work with the same intensity as them. As an actor, that’s what I find the most interesting aspect about them.”
Chaitanya Sharma talked about his experience of working in Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti. He said, “I enjoyed playing the character of Laxman Das Tripathi aka Lucky in this film.” As per reports, the movie is a nod to the nostalgic era of the 90s. Adding to this, he shared, “’What we have tried is very different. The 90s atmosphere was very different, so we were very excited to recreate that. Overall the movie has got a good response.”
Chaitanya said that what makes the movie so special is that it will compel OTT users to watch it because of its stellar cast. He added, “First of all, the film has talented actors like Shikha Talsania, Adhaar Khurana, Prajakta Koli and then our talented director Akarsh Khurana.” The movie captures various other elements and the essence of the 90s.
He further talked about the kind of roles he wants to play. Chaitanya Sharma said that he really wants to play two kinds of roles in a movie. One is of a soldier and the other is to portray a negative role, a villain or “gangster type role”. Reportedly, he has been fond of acting since childhood and wanted to become an actor ever since.
