Stray Kids Members Meet With Minor Car Accident, Cancel Upcoming Events
"After the minor collision, Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin immediately visited a hospital and received a thorough medical examination," Stray Kids' agency informed.

Three members of the prominent Korean pop boy band, Stray Kids, recently met with a car accident, as informed by the group’s management agency. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any severe injuries. Still, it has necessitated the advice that the members, namely Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin, should temporarily postpone or cancel their upcoming commitments and rest for faster recovery. Due to this unexpected turn of events, the full team of eight Stray Kids members will regrettably not be able to partake in their initially scheduled performance at the prestigious Global Citizen Festival in New York.

Their performance was set to take place on Saturday. Instead, the event will now be graced by 3Racha, a side project consisting of Stray Kids members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, who go by the monikers CB97, SpearB, and J.One in this music group. Notable artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lauryn Hill, BTS’s Jung Kook, Anitta, Conan Gray, D-Nice, and Sofia Carson are also slated to grace the Global Citizen stage, with the originally scheduled Megan Thee Stallion having to withdraw from the event.

JYPE, the agency representing Stray Kids, shared the news of the incident and subsequent changes in a post on X (formally known as Twitter).

“Hello, this is JYPE. While returning to their dorms after a schedule on September 20th (Wednesday), the vehicle carrying Stray Kids members Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin was involved in a minor collision,” the statement read.

“After the minor collision, Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin immediately visited a hospital and received a thorough medical examination. None of the members and accompanying staff in the vehicle were seriously injured, but as they have sustained mild muscle pain and bruises, medical professionals have advised that they receive conservative treatment for the time being. Therefore, we inform you that the schedules below have been cancelled or modified,” it further read.

The statement from the agency concluded with an apology for the abruptness of the news, reassuring fans that JYPE is committed to prioritising the artists’ well-being and will extend all necessary support for their recovery. The organisation expressed its gratitude for the understanding of fans during this challenging time.

Global Citizen, the advocacy group behind the Festival in New York, has also expressed its support for Stray Kids and their dedicated fanbase called the Strays.

In June this year, Stray Kids achieved an impressive milestone by securing their third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with 5 Star. This achievement followed their previous successes with Maxident and Oddinary, both of which were released in 2022.
