Shah Rukh Khan presented a masterclass on how to be the perfect gentleman when he stepped out on Sunday night. The superstar joined Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar to surprise fans at special screenings of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film completed 25 years this year. While several videos from the screening have gone viral, there is one video that is breaking the internet. In the video, Shah Rukh was seen carrying the pallu of Rani’s saree to avoid trampling it or letting it get dirty.
The video was shared by a paparazzo on Instagram and fans are praising SRK for his chivalry. “Gentleman hai yeh SRK Deko saree pakdi hui hai rani Mukarjee ki,” a fan wrote. “This is king khan things thats why he is the king,” added another. “How cute SRK looked holding that sari of Rani,” a third wrote. On Sunday night, Karan hosted three special screenings of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Mumbai as the film completes 25 years. With the film, Karan Johar too completed 25 years in the industry. Tickets were sold at Rs 25 and Karan set up special photo op props where moviegoers could take pictures. Several videos online show fans gathered to relive the iconic film and dance on songs playing in the movie. SRK, Rani and Karan also joined fans in the celebrations. However, Kajol couldn’t attend the event due to an outdoor schedule.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released on October 16, 1998. The film marked Karan Johar’s directorial debut and was a blockbuster. The performances and the songs received much love at the time of release and continue to be loved by fans today. Although Karan has dismissed the film as ‘silly’ in the past, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains as one of the classics among romcom lovers.
