Sharmila Tagore Reveals Gifting Saif Ali Khan's Ex Wife Amrita Singh THIS When Ibrahim Was Born
Sharmila Tagore opened up about giving Amrita Singh a heartwarming gift after she gave birth to Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Sharmila Tagore opened up about Amrita Singh yet again and this time, it was on Kaun Banega Crorepati. The veteran actress appeared on the show and took a place on the hotseat. She was joined by her granddaughter, Sara Ali Khan. While Sharmila enjoyed a round of the game with Big B, she also shared interesting anecdotes about her life. One of which was about Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan. Ibrahim was born in 2001. Sharmila revealed that at the time of his birth, she gifted Amrita a pair of gold earrings.

“When Ibrahim was born, I gave my earrings, which I wore for my wedding, to Amrita as that when Ibrahim grows up, it will be for his wife. Guess who has taken it?” Sharmila revealed, leaving Amitabh guessing. The KBC host named Sara Ali Khan and Sharmila confirmed with a nod. “Like Ibrahim has nothing to do with it. How is that possible?” Sharmila added, leaving all three of them in splits.

Saif married Amrita in October 1991 but they separated in 2004. Over the past few years, Saif has spent time with his children, Sara and Ibrahim. Today, Saif is often seen spending time with Sara and Ibrahim individually and they also join him, Kareena Kapoor, and their sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan on big events such as birthdays, Raksha Bandhan, and Diwali.

Appearing on Koffee With Karan 8 last month, Sharmila weighed in on Amrita and Saif’s divorce. She told Karan Johar, “When you are together for such a long time and you have such lovely children, then no break up is easy. Then it is not a harmonious… I know it is difficult to have harmony at that stage, everybody is hurt… so that stage was not nice but I tried. But that’s water under the bridge, she needed time to cool down and they worked it out together.”

“It’s not just staying away, there are so many other things that are involved. It wasn’t a happy time for us because Ibrahim was just three and we were very fond of the children. Especially, Tiger was really fond of Ibrahim and he would say, ‘That’s a good lad.’ He didn’t get that time with him. So we felt doubly deprived to lose Amrita and lose the two kids. So it’s just not him but we also had to adjust to all that,” she added.
