Pooja Bhatt REACTS For 1st Time To Rumour Claiming Alia Bhatt Is Her Daughter: 'Humare Desh Mein...'

Pooja Bhatt weighed on the wild rumour that Alia Bhatt is her daughter. The actress-filmmaker, who was recently seen in Bigg Boss OTT season 2, is Alia’s half-sister. They shared an age difference of about 21 years. While it is no secret that Pooja and Alia are daughters of Mahesh Bhatt, there were shocking rumours claiming that Alia is her daughter. Pooja reacted to the speculations for the first time and called the claims ‘absurb.’

Speaking with Siddharth Kannan in a recent interview, Pooja was informed that Alia had previously made fun of these rumours. When asked to weigh in, Pooja said that these rumours are ‘idiotic’. She said that such rumours reveal more about the person spreading it than about the person who is the subject of the rumour.

“Ye toh humare desh mein bahut purani cheez hai (This is not new in our country). Start talking about somebody’s relationship with their daughter or with their bhabhi or with their sister or with their whatever. Now, how do you counteract that? Ke aap iss cheez ko dignity bhi de sakte hai respond kar ke? It is absurd,” Pooja said.

Mahesh Bhatt welcomed Pooja Bhatt in 1972 from his first marriage with Lorraine Bright aka Kiran Bhatt. Kiran and Mahesh met when he was in school. They got married when she was 20 and Mahesh was 21. They welcomed Pooja soon after. Their relationship took a sour turn after Mahesh met Parveen Babi and they got into the relationship.

A few years after their split, Mahesh met Soni Razdan and they tied the knot. The couple welcomed their older daughter Shaheen Bhatt and had Alia Bhatt in 1993.

Alia and Pooja share a good bond. Pooja attended Alia’s wedding with Ranbir Kapoor in 2021. Earlier this year, Alia turned cheerleader for Pooja Bhatt when she was participating in Bigg Boss OTT 2.
