Jawan Star Priyamani Says She Was Placed Behind SRK In Zinda Banda: 'He Told Atlee, I Don't Care...'
Priyamani said that Shah Rukh Khan called her his dance teacher and told the makers that she will be beside him in the song.

Popular South actress Priyamani was recently seen as part of Shah Rukh Khan’s gang in the Atlee directorial venture Jawan. However, this was not the first time that she shared screen space with the superstar. The two previously worked together in the song One Two Three Four Get On The Dance Floor from the film Chennai Express. She recently spoke about working with Shah Rukh again, especially in another song – Jinda Banda.

Talking to Connect FM Canada, Priyamani recalled that when they were rehearsing for the song, she was placed behind Shah Rukh. However, when the superstar learned of this, he especially took notice of where she was. Priyamani said that Shah Rukh then told the film’s director Atlee and choreographer Shobi Master that she should be next to him since she has been his “dance teacher” since Chennai Express and can follow her in case he forgets his steps.

“He said, ‘What are you doing behind me?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, sir. They’ve placed me behind you. This is what they said.’ He said, ‘No,’ and took my hand, caught my shoulder, and made me stand next to him. He told Shobi master and Atlee sir, ‘I want this girl to stand next to me. I don’t care what the choreography is. I don’t get anything. She is my dance teacher right from Chennai Express. I don’t care even if I go wrong. I’m going to look at her only and we’re going to do so,'” Priyamani said.

She added, “So every step he used to ask me, ‘Tell me how you do.’ I said, ‘Sir, the hand is like this, the leg is like that and we have to just move this way. If you actually notice in the song, Sanya (Malhotra) is on his right and I’m on his left. So, he always wanted us to be next to him.”

Jawan was released in cinemas on Thursday, September 7 amid much anticipation. The film became a blockbuster on the first day of its release itself, quickly crossing the Rs. 100 crore mark. It is expected that it will break Pathaan’s record as the highest-grossing Bollywood film.
