Jackie Shroff Goes Barefoot For Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Ceremony; Vivek Oberoi Shares Video

After a prolonged wait, the historic Ram Temple was eventually inaugurated on Monday, 22 January, in presence of thousands of devotees and distinguished guests. Having received prior invitations from the temple trust, Bollywood celebs attended the consecration ceremony all decked up in traditional outfits. Among them was Jackie Shroff, who visited Ayodhya and was spotted with Vivek Oberoi. Even as all the celebrities took part in the ceremony with great devotion, a video of Jackie Shroff went viral, leaving fans impressed with his gesture.

Vivek Oberoi shared the video of Jackie Shroff stating that the actor reached barefoot to attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. He also shared a glimpse of Jackie’s feet as he stood without shoes. The video began with both of them calling each other ‘My favourite’ and later, showed them chanting ‘Jai Siya Ram’ in unison.

Vivek Oberoi while pointing at Jackie Shroff’s bare feet said, “He is not wearing shoes. Ram ki bhoomi mein aa raho to jooto ki zarurat hi nahi hai (there is no need for shoes in the land of Lord Ram).”

Needless to say, Jackie Shroff’s gesture won the hearts of many who appreciated him. Earlier in the day, the senior actor was spotted arriving at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony with a plant in his hand. It is, however, not known whether he gifted the plant to someone or placed it in the temple premises. He also spoke to the media and expressed his excitement over having received the opportunity to witness the long-awaited moment. “I have received the blessing…I feel great that I was called. Whenever I was given the role of an inspector, my name was Ram,” the actor said.

Not only that, Jackie Shroff who recently made a return to Mumbai was once again spotted barefoot as he arrived with an idol of Lord Ram from Ayodhya.

Prior to this, the veteran actor was also seen taking part in cleaning a temple in Mumbai ahead of the consecration event. In videos going viral, the 66-year-old joined many others to clean the premises of an old Ram temple in the city.

Following the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clean temples across the country ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Jackie Shroff was seen using a mop to clean the stairs of the temple.
