In yet another milestone for India’s entertainment industry, filmmaker and producer Ektaa Kapoor was awarded the esteemed International Emmy Directorate Award at the Emmys in New York. The award was given to her by the renowned author, Deepak Chopra. What makes this even more momentous is the fact that Ektaa Kapoor has become the first Indian woman filmmaker to be awarded the International Emmy Directorate Award, highlighting the impact of her contributions to the industry. While she thanked her family and country on stage, Ektaa made sure that she expressed her gratitude to all those who have been part of the success journey so far.
In an Instagram post after receiving the prestigious award, Ektaa Kapoor wrote, “Thanku guys my heart is full!!! Names I dint get a chance to take but u guys r d reason for this season!” She then listed a slew of names to have been with her in the journey she started decades ago. She thanked Gayatri Gill, Gaurav Banerjee, Purnendu, Shailaja, Dheeraj Sarna, Mahesh Pandey, Mukta Dhond, Ronit Roy Tarun Katial, Anurag Basu, Kishen prem Narayan, late Sushma Swaraj. Late Imtiaz patel, Sandip Sikand, Harneet Singh, Shivangi Chauhaan and others including her associates, editors.

As she collected her award at the 51st International Emmys in New York, she first and foremost thanked her mother, Shobha Kapoor, claiming that she started her production house with her in her father Jeetendra’s garage. She looked back at how she stared and lauded that, with time, more and more women are actively participating in the industry. Ekta also thanked her father and brother, Tusshar Kapoor, for their constant support.

Her fans were quite delighted by the news and congratulated her on the achievement. Some said, “Keep Shining and Thriving Always…Congratulations.”
Many industry personalities also wished her. Ananya Panday wrote, “Congratulations Ekta ma’am.” Kriti Sanon reacted, “Goosebumps!! On November 20, New York City hosted the International Emmy Awards. While Vir Das won an Emmy for comedy, Shefali Shah was also nominated.
