Dunki: Shah Rukh Khan Calls Boman Irani's Character 'Ironic', Says 'He Has To Deliberately Speak...'

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of his film Dunki. The film has secured a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with a runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes. The promo and songs of the film have already been generating a buzz. Ahead of the film’s release, Shah Rukh Khan has spilled beans on Boman Irani’s ‘ironic’ character in the film.

As part of a promotional chat, Shah Rukh Khan explained why it was difficult for Boman Irani to play a character with poor English skills, “It’s ironic. He is our English teacher in the film, yet he has to deliberately speak poorly in English (suggesting that he is not fluent in it). The irony lies in the fact that, among all of us, excluding screenwriter Abhijat Joshi, Boman is the most proficient in English. His knowledge of English is not limited. I think it was very difficult for him to do [this character],” he shared.

The much-awaited release of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki is drawing near and fans are buzzing with anticipation. With each passing day, the excitement builds as audiences eagerly look forward to the opportunity to watch this film on the big screen. And with the release just around the corner, promotions for Dunki are in full force. Recently, SRK visited ‘The Vox Cinema’ and Global Village, Dubai to promote the movie in a grand event attended by over 100,000 fans.

Adding to the already high levels of excitement, the makers have announced a special surprise for fans in the called Dunki Diaries.

The three trio of the film—Rajkumar Hirani, SRK, and Taapsee Pannu—came together for Dunki Dairies, where they all gave some interesting answers on the highly anticipated Dunki and engaged in the fun banter that is sure to win everyone’s hearts.

Dunki features an ensemble cast, with colorful characters portrayed by exceptionally talented actors Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, along with Shah Rukh Khan. A JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films presentation, produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan Written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, Dunki is slated to release in December 2023.
