A great piece of news for anime aficionados, particularly Demon Slayer enthusiasts is just in. Sony Pictures has delighted fans by advancing the nationwide release date of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training. Initially set for Friday, February 23, the movie will now grace screens a day earlier on Thursday, February 22. But that’s not all – to ramp up the excitement even further, die-hard fans can anticipate an exclusive fan screening on February 21 in Mumbai.

The upcoming release offers a unique opportunity for fans to revisit the thrilling finale of the Swordsmith Village Arc and get an exciting sneak peek at the much-anticipated Hashira Training Arc. It is a double delight for fans as they will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Demon Slayer on big screen and it will be the first time fans will witness the beginning of the Hashira Training Arc in theatres.

The story of the Hashira Training Arc, adapted from Koyoharu Gotouge’s 16th volume of the Demon Slayer manga, will explore Tanjiro’s encounters with the Stone Hashira, Himejima, as he undergoes rigorous training on the path to reach the rank of Hashira within the Demon Slayer Corps. This special episode will offer fans an immersive experience that is sure to keep them hooked from the beginning to the end.

What sets the upcoming Demon Slayer movie apart is an exclusive treat for manga fans. The movie will feature a brand new scene, which was never seen in the manga before. The scene includes the incredible skills of the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa and the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro, showcasing their powerful Breathing Techniques.

Set between the season 3 finale and season 4, this unique addition depicts Shinazugawa and Iguro teaming up for an interesting rescue and assassination mission. It’s not the first time that the Japanese animation studio has added unseen footage. Earlier, season 2 started with a glimpse of how the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, starts his investigation of the Mugen Train and meets a demon responsible for a series of disappearances in a town.

As per reports by Anime News Network, as part of the World Tour, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training has made a significant impact at the box office, with reports indicating that it sold an impressive 8,74,000 tickets and generated approximately 1.25 billion yen (approximately Rs 69 crore). The film premiered in Tokyo on February 2, and quickly claimed the top spot, after it sold 4,43,700 tickets for 64,67,90,467 yen (approximately Rs 35 crore) in its initial three days.
