Aryan Khan finally broke his silence on making his directorial debut. It has been reported that Shah Rukh Khan’s son has decided to become a filmmaker and is set to direct a series titled Stardom. The series will release on an online streaming platform and will feature six episodes. In a new interview, Aryan didn’t reveal many spoilers about the series. However, he opened up about donning a director’s hat. In a recent interview, he was asked how different it was to be director as against being a fashion creative and entrepreneur.
Speaking with GQ India, Aryan said, “They’re both creatively stimulating in different ways. As the creative director of the brand, I shoot the ads, as well as oversee the photoshoots. I’m very involved creatively, but not as much when it comes to the logistics. On the other hand, as a director I have to look into every detail, every shot and every angle.” For the unversed, Aryan joined Bunty Singh and Leti Blagoeva to start a luxury lifestyle collective, SLAB, in 2022. As part of the brand, he has launched the fashion line, D’yavol X.
As for the series, Aryan is keeping details about Stardom under tight wraps. However, a Bollywood Hungama report last year claimed that the series will feature Mona Singh in a pivotal role. The report also claimed that Stardom will have cameo appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and Bobby Deol. It is also claimed that Lakshya Lalwani plays the lead in the series. The series is also said to feature Gautami Kapoor, who is known for her roles in television serials like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Qubool Hai.
It is also reported that Aryan Khan’s series will focus on the challenges and behind-the-scenes nitty-gritty of the Indian film industry. The story revolves around the lives of budding, young actors wanting to make it big in Bollywood. The gritty drama, interspersed with humour, will show how they juggle their ambitions with their personal lives, trying to attain a balance.
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan had turned director last year for an ad for his fashion brand. The ad featured Shah Rukh in the lead.
