Article 370: Yami Gautam And Priyamani Starrer Gets Banned In All Gulf Countries
The ban on Yami Gautam's film comes shortly after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter was also banned.

Yami Gautam’s Article 370 has been banned in Gulf countries. The film was released in cinemas on February 23 and is being well-received at the domestic and global box offices. However, now it has been banned in all Gulf countries. This ban comes shortly after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter was banned in all Gulf countries (except UAE) last month.

Article 370 features Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer named Zooni Haksar. The film revolves around the removal of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by the central government. The film is set in the valley and is inspired by true events. Article 370 was revoked by the central government in 2019.

The film minted Rs. 6.12 crores on its opening day at the domestic box office. So far, in just three days, it has collected a total of Rs 25.45 crores. The film offers audiences a gripping narrative woven with political intrigue, national security, and pulse-pounding action sequences.

Besides Yami, the film also stars Priyamani, Arun Govil, Kiran Karmakar and Vaibhav Tatwawadi among others in key roles. The film is directed by Aditya Jambhale and produced by Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande.

News18 Showsha’s review of the film reads, “Article 370 has been shot in some real locations that impart a lot of authenticity to the narrative. Cinematographer Siddharth Vasani captures the essence of Kashmir with such aplomb that each frame set there smells of the valley. The solemnity of the narrative is perfectly conveyed through the muted tones of blue and grey that predominate the film. At 2 hours and 40 minutes, Article 370 largely manages to keep you hooked. The makers waste no time and dive into the crux of the story in the first half, and it makes for a fast-paced experience till the point of intermission.”

Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also talked about the film. He said, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week… It is a good thing as it will help people get the correct information.” However, despite the largely positive reception of the film, it has now been banned in all Gulf countries.
