Animal Storms Box Office, Sells 2 Lakh Tickets in Just 1 Day and Mints Rs 6.40 Cr; Sam Bahadur Lags
As Animal prepares to face off against Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur, Ranbir's film has a considerable lead over Vicky Kaushal's movie.

Excitement is running high for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, with hopes that it will surpass the Rs 50 crore mark on its opening day. The advance bookings for the film began on Saturday, and early indicators suggest that the predictions are on track, indicating the potential for the film to clock the biggest opening in both Ranbir and the Vanga’s careers.

According to Sacnilk, an industry tracker, the film has already achieved a significant milestone in the domestic market. It has sold a total of 2,09,986 tickets across 6,036 shows, earning an impressive revenue of Rs 6.42 crore. The Hindi version sold 1,76,192 tickets, bringing in Rs 5.87 crore. The Telugu version contributed 33,453 tickets (Rs 54 lakh), and the Tamil version sold 341 tickets (Rs 32,740). Delhi and Telangana have made the highest contributions to the advance bookings, recording Rs 1.51 crore and Rs 1.23 crore, respectively.

Considering Ranbir Kapoor’s big impact on the southern market, as evidenced by the success of his recent films in that region, Sacnilk predicts that Animal will pose a challenge to the opening record set by Ranbir’s Rajkumar Hirani-directed film Sanju. As of now, Sanju holds the title of his highest opener at Rs 34.75 crore nett.

As it prepares to face off against Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, a biographical war drama depicting the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw, Ranbir’s film has a considerable lead over Vicky Kaushal’s movie. The latter has seen limited success in advance bookings, with fewer than 15,000 tickets sold so far.

Meanwhile, following an ‘A’ rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Animal has been granted an 18 rating (suitable for adults only) by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The movie’s description on the BBFC site explores intense violence, including instances of sexual and domestic violence, and includes mild spoilers.
