Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s second Hindi film Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna will soon hit theatres. With his first film Kabir Singh being a box office success and Animal generating a lot of anticipation before its release, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is now set to direct Spirit, his next Hindi film, with Prabhas as the lead. In a recent interview, he stated when the audience can expect the next film to go on the floor.
On the show Unstoppable with NBK, the host Nandamuri Balakrishna asked Sandeep Reddy Vanga, “My grandson Devansh is eagerly awaiting the commencement of Prabhas’ Spirit movie. When can we expect the shooting to begin?” The director replied, “The film is scheduled to go on floors in September 2024.” Earlier this year, speaking to Pinkvilla, producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Right now, I want the audience to concentrate on Animal. After that, we will start, we’ll take a gap of five to six months and then start Spirit.
During the conversation, Ranbir Kapoor voiced his strong desire to be a part of Prabhas’ Spirit film. The actor remarked, “His (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) next film is with Prabhas Anna. If he has a small role for me, I would be thrilled to be a part of Spirit.”
Meanwhile, the trailer for Animal was released recently at a grand event in Delhi. The event was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and others associated with the film. At the launch event, The director also shed light on working with Ranbir. Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, “Working with Ranbir Kapoor, for a second-time filmmaker, is actually a big opportunity. I was very excited when I got to know that we’d be working together. Once I started narrating the story, the rest fell into place.”
Animal, a pan-Indian action-thriller film, is set in a gangster world and explores the complicated and toxic connection between a son and his father. Anil Kapoor plays the harsh and toxic father, while Ranbir plays the devoted son who will go to any length to ensure his father’s safety and approval. Bobby Deol plays a dangerous antagonist in the film. Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, and others play supporting roles. The film is set to release on December 1.
