Alia Bhatt, Rajkummar Rao and Sonakshi Sinha led the celebrity roll call at the 4th edition of the Filmfare OTT Awards held in Mumbai on November 26. The celebrities made a splash at the gala ceremony with their sartorial sensibilities. But it was Sahil G Salathia, better known for his performance in the horror series Adhura, who caught the attention of the masses for his eccentric dressing sense. The actor arrived at the venue in a pair of shorts.
A video of Sahil G Salathia at the Filmfare OTT Awards was dropped on Instagram by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani. The video captured Sahil dressed in an all-black ensemble consisting of a crisp shirt and red tie that he layered with a waistcoat and a sleek blazer. But instead of wearing trousers, the 35-year-old decided to take an out-of-the-box fashion route, wearing only a pair of shorts. He rounded off his school-boyish avatar with a pair of high-length socks and black shoes. Sahil greeted the paparazzi with a beaming smile and posed patiently for the camera with his hands on his waist.

“Adhura actor Sahil G Salathia has started a new red carpet trend at Filmfare OTT awards tonight for others to follow” read the caption of the post. Although Sahil broke the red carpet convention of dressing, social media users did not seem to approve of his attire. They took to the comment section to point out his uncanny outfit choice. While a user called his fashion sense to be “Tasteless” another labelled him to be the “Cheap version of Ranveer Singh”. “School bhejo isko (Send him to school)” jokingly criticised an individual. “Yeh toh sach main ‘adhura’ nikla (He really came out as incomplete)” pointed out another.
Sahil G Salathia has previously worked in films and television shows like Everest, Paurashpur, and Panipat to name a few. But he skyrocketed to fame after starring in director Gauravv K Chawla and Ananya Banerjee’s Adhura. The Prime Video series revolves around a sinister occurrence at a boarding school and talks about important topics like bullying. Headlined by Rasika Duggal and Ishwak Singh, Sahil played the role of Suyash Verma in the series.
