Why Can't Jimmy Sheirgill Ever Get the Girl in a Movie, Bollywood?
This good looking man, who is a good actor, deserves a film where he has a happy ending.

We all know Jimmy Sheirgill, don’t we? Perhaps one of the most underrated actors of our times- the man has been in innumerable blockbuster hits but almost always playing the second fiddle. Time and again, Sheirgill has proved that he can deliver- no matter how short his role is. And each time Bollywood has failed him. Because even though writers think of him as a bankable star- he never gets the girl. Most films- he ends sacrificing his love for the main lead.

Sheirgill’s immense acting talent is a story of a later day. But today, when his latest film Happy Bhag Jayegi hits the theatres-where he loses the girl to a much younger Ali Fazal- it is time to address a very important issue: Why doesn’t Jimmy Sheirgill ever get the girl in any of his films. It's almost a joke now.

Look at this man.

Perfect features, charming smile and someone who Bengali mothers would call a Bhalo Chhele (good boy). And yet – he always ends up playing the biggest roadblock in any love story. Or he is just busy saving the nation and makers save money by not writing a female character opposite him.

We trace back to Sheirgill's debut film. And our research leads us to some disturbing facts. Facts that have been ignored blatantly by Bollywood writers. That almost every second film that the actor has been a part of, he hasn’t got the girl. Take a look:

Maachis

His character is shot down by the police.

Mohabbatein

Okay he does get the girl, but only at the end of the film. All through the film he is just seen pinning for the girl’s attention.

Haasil

He elopes with the love of his life but people only focus on Irrfan Khan’s performance. What man!

Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai

Loses the girl to Uday Chopra. ‘Nuff said.

Munnabhai MBBS

Has to settle for a lap dance at the hospital bed before dying of cancer.

Saheb Biwi aur Gangster

Has a wife, but cheats on him left, right and center. He's not a great guy in the movie though to be honest, so it's kinda fair.

Tanu Weds Manu (One and Two)

Only gets the best dialogues. But not Tanu. Not even her clone!

Hum Tum

Loses the girl to Saif Ali Khan.

Bullet Raja

Dies while saving friend's girlfriend.

Wednesday, Madaari

Plays the grumpy cop. Makers save the money by not writing a female character opposite him.

The only noticeable film which goes against our plea is Shoojit Sircar’s Yahaan. A film which had him playing an army man in love with a Kashmiri girl. But that is just one film out of so many.

Bollywood, please take note. This good looking man, who is a good actor, deserves a film where he has a happy ending. One of the characters in Happy Bhaag Jayegi says, “Guddu ko Happy Mili aur Aap Ko Sympathy". Enough of that now, please!
