When MG Ramachandran Hosted Biryani Party On A Film Set To Fulfil A Crew Member’s Wish
The actor-politician heard a light man express his wish to eat biryani at the film’s set.

MG Ramachandran is regarded as an illustrious figure in the state of Tamil Nadu, someone whose work resonated with the public. As an actor, he was known to be one of the most kind celebrities on the sets, who took care of every person present. A little anecdote about the man is making headlines on the internet, where he provided biryani to everyone on the set, fulfilling the wish of one cameraman. As per the information given, Ramachandran, popularly known as MGR was engaged in a shoot for his film titled Anandha Jodhi, when he heard a conversation between the light men. The actor-politician was in one of the makeup rooms of the set when a light man entered the other side of the room. One of the crew present in the room asked him if he had eaten well before arriving. To this, the first man replied that he had to leave his meal halfway, after the camera man called him urgently. The man then stated that he wished to have biryani. The conversing men were totally unaware that MGR had heard their words.

MGR hosted a biryani feast for the whole film crew. Ramachandran refrained from eating the item himself because it was a Thursday. MGR’s assistant asked him, “Why did you give a biryani feast?” He replied with, “When someone asks for it, it is better to give it.”

MGR was working on the film Anandha Jodhi, which was released in 1963. Made under the direction of V N Reddy and A S A Sami. It starred MGR and Devika as the leads, along with M R Radha, S A Ashokan, S V Sahasranamam, Javar Seetharaman and others. It was produced by P S Veerappa under the banner of Hariharan Films while the music was composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy.
