Abhishek Bachchan is one of the critically acclaimed actors in Bollywood with his acting prowess in the films Sarkar, Ghoomer, etc. He had a tough childhood following his diagnosis of Dyslexia at the age of 9. For those who don’t know, dyslexia is a lifelong condition that makes it difficult for people to read, write and spell. According to a report published in TimesNowNews.Com, the Sarkar actor did not try to push his dyslexia out of sight from fans or the media. He also did not let his condition hold him back from becoming one of the most sought-after stars in Bollywood. On the contrary, he has been sharing this story and promoting learning disability awareness groups. He also participated in the making of actor Aamir Khan’s film Taare Zameen Par. This film portrays the life of a young dyslexic boy struggling through school.
Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par struck a chord with the audience. Written by Amole Gupte, this film starred Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra, Vipin Sharma and others in important roles. This film was released in cinema halls on December 21, 2007, in Hindi, English and German. Aamir Khan Productions and PVR Pictures produced this film. With 28 wins and 18 nominations, Taare Zameen Par remains one of the most highly appreciated films to date.
Among all the actors, Darsheel was propelled to fame in the film industry with his acting prowess. Taare Zameen Par was India’s official entry for the 2009 Academy Awards Best Foreign Film. In an interview with the Indian Express, the Capital A, Small A actor has recalled how he slept through the film’s premiere only to wake up to people crying around him. He narrated, “I remember seeing it seven times when it released, all screenings, out of which I will be honest I slept the last two-three times because I was young. I was a shameless child, a ruckus! After that I didn’t see it, I was like, ‘Ok enough now, relax. I am also a person who runs away from emotional films because people around you are just crying.”
