Vijay Deverakonda reacted to claims that he has filed police complaints against those trolling his recently released film, Family Star. The film released on April 5 and received mixed reactions from audience. While a section of fans enjoyed it, a section also criticised the film. Amid these reactions, there were rumours that Vijay, through his manager, has taken a legal action against trollers. Vijay has clarified that he has not taken any such step.
Film reporter Haricharan Pudipeddi reached out to Vijay with a tweet mentioning the news along with a photo of Vijay with a police officer. The journalist asked him if there is any truth in the news. The actor replied saying ‘nope’. When asked about the photo, Vijay clarified that it was an old photo which was taken during the Covid-19 time.

Meanwhile, Family Star producer Dil Raju has called for a ban on reviews and social media reactions for three days after a film’s release. Speaking with TV9, Dil Raju said, “In Kerala, a court has directed to stop publishing reviews for three days after a film’s release. Something like this should be enforced here too for the betterment of our industry. We made a good movie, please come to the theatre and watch it. If you like it, tell it to others. You didn’t like a movie, that’s your opinion. But, don’t force your opinion on audiences.”
“The family audiences have appreciated this film and have given good feedback. It has reached its intended audience. Producers are the first who are affected by these negative reviews. If this trend continues and damages pile on, there will be fewer people willing to produce,” he added.
Family Star has had a surprisingly slow run at the box office.
