This Actress, A Member Of A Star-Studded Family, Couldn't Deliver A Single Hit In Her 19-year Career
Divya Khosla Kumar became popular in the entertainment industry with her music videos before venturing into the direction and production of movies in Bollywood. The actress debuted with the movie Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo in 2004. It was directed by Anil Sharma and starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol in the lead role. The film couldn’t perform well at the box office. After this, the actress couldn’t turn her luck in Bollywood and failed to give any hits in her 20 years of acting career in the entertainment industry. She got married to Bhushan Kumar, the current chairman of T-Series music label in 2005. The actress gave birth to her son named Ruhaan in 2011
Divya Khosla Kumar garnered headlines in the early stages of her career with her appearance in music videos like Aiyyo Rama by Falguni Pathak and Zid Na Karo Ye Dil Ka Mamla Hah by Abhijeet Bhattacharya in the 2000s. Touted to become the lead heroine in Bollywood, the actress got married to a star-studded family of Bhushan Kumar in 2005. After the marriage, the actress took a break from the entertainment industry before making a comeback with her directorial debut Yaariyan in 2014. It starred Himanshu Kohli, Rakul Preet Singh, Nicole Faria and Evelyn Sharma in the lead roles. Even though the movie was bashed by the critics, Yaariyan earned a considerable collection at the box office and gained the status of ‘Hit’ in Bollywood.
The actress then directed Sanam Re in 2016, starring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela. The movie couldn’t perform well at the box office. Apart from direction and acting, the actress has also tried her hands in the production. She produced movies like Roy, Batla House, Street Dancer 3D, Ludo, Indoo Ki Jawani and Yaariyan 2. None of the movies could have a huge impact at the box office.
The actress is now set to debut in a bilingual Telugu-Hindi film titled Hero N Heroine in a lead role. The movie is directed by Suresh Krissna. The makers revealed the first poster on January 16.
