Thalapathy Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Inches Towards Registration With The Election Commission
Following the Election Commission's regulations, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam released public notices in both Tamil and English newspapers on Sunday.

Thalapathy Vijay’s political entry had long been speculated as the actor regularly indulged in humanitarian activities through his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam and also voiced his political opinion. After years of speculation, Vijay finally announced his decision to float his political party earlier this year, naming it Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

Vijay’s political outfit has now progressed towards formal registration, taking a significant step in the process. Following the Election Commission’s regulations, the party released public notices in both Tamil and English newspapers on Sunday. These notices invite individuals to raise objections, if any, regarding the party’s registration or the name Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Individuals who wish to raise objections, along with reasons, can submit them to the secretary of the political party at the Election Commission of India in New Delhi within 30 days from the publication date of the notice. The notice in the newspapers also includes the names of the party members.

According to reports, over 80 lakh individuals have voluntarily signed up as members even before the official launch. There’s an optimistic outlook within the party that they will swiftly reach their target of two crore members well before the formal launch.

A district-level functionary of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, the actor’s fan club, stated, “Previously, district presidents and senior functionaries were asked to submit affidavits confirming their awareness of the party’s upcoming launch. We were informed that Vijay would serve as the party president and Bussy N Anand as the general secretary. It’s through these public notices that we’ve come to know about the appointments of Venkatraman, Rajasekar, and Thahira as the treasurer, headquarters secretary, and joint propaganda secretary of the party, respectively.” Venkatraman has been Vijay’s assistant for several years.

Talking about Vijay’s acting front, he is currently gearing up for his upcoming film titled GOAT. After that, he has another project lined up tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, following which he will reportedly quit acting to concentrate full-time on his political career.
