To everyone’s surprise, veteran singer and songwriter Stevie Nicks recently attended a Taylor Swift performance. It was one of the concert nights of the popstar’s ongoing Eras Tour in Dublin. In the final leg of her tour, Taylor Swift also debuted her song Clara Bow from her latest album Tortured Poets Department. The night was extra special as it also witnessed the presence of her friend from Fleetwood Mac.
Fleetwood Mac, a much-loved London-based rock band, has Stevie Nicks, 76, as their lead vocalist. According to People, Taylor and Stevie have been friends for more than 10 years now. Taylor dedicated the night’s acoustic set to her and praised Stevie’s presence in her life. The concert took place on Sunday in Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
As reported by Rolling Stone, right before playing the song that mentioned Stevie, Taylor had expressed her gratitude towards her. “You don’t even know she’s doing it, she’s just become friends with so many female artists just to be a guiding hand,” Taylor said. “I can’t tell you how rare that is. She’s a hero of mine and someone I can tell her any secrets – she’d never tell anybody,” the Lover singer added.
Taylor also said how Nicks had been a source of help to her over the years for a number of things in her life. She also introduced her to the cheering attendees in the stadium saying, “I’m talking about Stevie Nicks. So I’m going to play ‘Clara Bow’ for the first time for her.”
Apart from Stevie, Sunday night saw more A-listers in the attendees at the concert. It included actor Julia Roberts and Taylor’s partner Travis Kelce who were spotted talking to each other in the VIP tent. Actor Florence Hunt, currently in news for her role in the series Bridgerton, was also present.
As for the special guest of the night, Stevie and Taylor, their friendship reportedly started right after they performed at the 52nd Grammy Awards in 2010.
