Is Deepika Padukone playing the new-age version of Vibhishana in Singham Again? Well, that is what we could conclude after watching the trailer, The Singham Again trailer was released on Monday. Director Rohit Shetty has put together a team of cop-uniformed Avengers in a world based on the Ramayan. Perfectly set for a Diwali release, Singham Again shows Ajay Devgn channelling a new-age Lord Ram while he attempts to save his on-screen Sita, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. She is kidnapped by new-age Raavan, played by Arjun Kapoor.
The trailer revealed that Deepika Padukone plays the role of Shakti Shetty, a police official based in Tamil Nadu. The same was confirmed in her entry scene in the film. The word Police was written in Tamil on the car she was driving. She is shown as someone who worships Singham but has her flaws. In a scene in the trailer, Deepika is seen breaking down as she seemingly mourns the death of those who were martyred in a fight scene.
The scene, like a few fans also noticed, is set up in a similar to Vibhishana surrending to Lord Ram in Ramayan. These similarities hint that Deepika Padukone’s character might have been inspired by Vibhishana.

Deepika makes her debut in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe with Singham Again. As shown in the trailer, the actress plays the role of ‘Lady Singham’. Rohit had announced that Deepika would be a part of the film during the release of Cirkus.
Apart from Deepika, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and many more. The film is set to release on the occasion of Diwali and will lock heads with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It is going to be an explosive clash at the box office.
